EnrichCare provides Support Independent Living (SIL) at a variety of accommodation types including Short/Medium Term, permanent and respite.

Our Supported Independent Living program in Melbourne, Victoria, is designed to offer personalized support and resources tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs and aspirations.

What is SIL? ​

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a service and support model provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme designed to assist individuals with disabilities in living independently and autonomously in their homes or community settings.

SIL aims to provide personalized support tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives while receiving the necessary assistance.

We support you to

  • Develop individual program plans that outline goals, aspirations and desires for independent living.
  • Develop and maintain friendships and community connections
  • Access social and recreational activities
  • Manage and attend appointments
  • Complete forms and other forms of communication
  • Maintain a household
  • Manage accommodation and tenancy obligations

We will also work with you to develop increased independence through skill development in areas such as:

  • Financial and money management

  • Shopping and household tasks, including cooking and domestic duties

  • Social skills

  • Using public transport

  • Personal care and hygiene

  • Mobility support

  • Therapy support

  • Medication assistance

Short Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is support for when you need to live out of home for a short period.

Short Term Accommodation funding can be used for respite to support you and your carers. This gives your carers a short break from their caring role.

Our respite services include

  • gives you the chance to try new things

  • can be a place to make new friends or develop new skills

  • may help to maintain your current living situation by giving your informal supports a break.

Short Term Accommodation may suit your needs if your usual support network isn’t available for a short period. Short Term Accommodation includes personal care, accommodation, food, activities you and the provider agree to.
